NFL bettors have always gravitated toward the favorites. But now more than ever, those who do are reaping the rewards.

Week 8 of the NFL season was big for the big boys. Favorites went 11-2 against the spread (84.6%), tied for the best record in at least 50 years. All of them covered the spread by at least a TD, something that hasn’t happened since the 1990s.

In a cap-dominated league built so all teams can compete, NFL teams are instead going “all-out” to get better in the future. The trend to “tank” has been going on in the NBA for years, but it appears the NFL is joining the trend of a league full of haves and have-nots.

brady.bookies.com NFL handicapper Adam Thompson has his finger on the pulse of the NFL. Thompson has hit on a whopping 60.2% of his NFL best bets five years, including in 2025. Here are his two NFL parlays to back on the best betting apps for Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season:

The “Big Blowouts” Parlay

Leg 1: Chargers -8.5 over Titans

No Titans loss since Week 1 has been by less than 10, and four of them have been by 18+. Tennessee is on an 11-game losing streak at home, against the spread! No team’s ever been that bad. The last three weeks, the Chargers have possessed a Top 3 offense.

Leg 2: Packers -13.5 over Panthers

A hobbled Bryce Young will start, but how will he escape the Packers’ ferocious pass rush? And how will the Panthers keep up with a GB side that’s healthy, and getting Jordan Love off perhaps his best start?

Leg 3: Rams -14 over Saints

Rookie Tyler Shough gets his first start at QB for the Saints. Not a great situation to be walking into. The Rams defense has allowed 10 points its last two games.

The “Ball Hogs” Parlay

Leg 1: Tyler Warren, Over 55.5 Receiving Yards

The Colts TE averages 61.5 ypg as a top target for Daniel Jones. He’s gone over this total five out of eight games and over 70 yards three times. The Steelers allow a whopping 79.3 ypg to tight end, tops in the league by a wide margin.

Leg 2: Quentin Johnston, Longest Reception Over 18.5 Yards

Johnson put up a goose egg vs. the Vikings last week. L.A. still won 37-10, but look for Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert to look often in Johnston’s direction. Not counting the o-fer last week, Johnson has a reception of over 20 yards in all but one other game.

Leg 3: Tre Tucker, Over 38.5 Receiving Yards

Tucker’s had four games of over 50 yards but is dinged here with Tyler Lockett entering the mix. Still, Locket is slotted No. 2 on the depth chart behind Jakobi Meyers. Tucker can continue being the outside threat, and the Jaguars rank 31st in yards allowed to outside WRs.
